THE GITRACE RE-UNION
On Monday, October 21, 2024, I had the great pleasure of attending my first GItrace re-union with my wife, Ann.
It was held at the Cambridge Belfry spa hotel in Cambourne, and this was my chance to personally thank the people who made it possible to identify my GI father, Allan Russell Edwards.
John Munro is the GItrace administrator who organised the re-union, Sally Vincent and Julia Bell are genealogists, and Dr Niels J. Zussblatt, who was the star speaker, was a senior analyst with the National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis, Missouri, where the USA keeps all its military records. Without their help I would probably have never known who my father was. I will always remain indebted to them.
