See the soaring giant sequoias rising to a roofless sky,
Wood smoke drifting, incense burning, through
The slanted bars of light.
The pool that christens with its waters sends a benediction downward
By the rainbow of azaleas, like
Stained glass they grace the sight.
And the redwoods creaking up to heaven, rising through eternal days,
Bless the minds of men that rise and spark
And die within the night.
